D'oh

Just found out my bag isn't waterproof, fucking rain. Any way my sketch book has got a bit soaked. Just wondering what the best way to dry it is, to lessen the damage. either open or with something pressing on it to maybe stop the crinkling a bit.

Don't you place sheets of blotting paper in between all the pages or something? - or might that suck up the art as well.... mmmm

What a disaster. Hope you salvage it.

This is only a suggestion...

The page are going to crinkle whatever you do... So, I would consider removing each page and then steam ironing them with a sheet of grease proof or baking paper between the face of the iron and the drawn surface and another between the ironing board and the other side of the page.
It shouldn't matter if they've already begun to dry as the steam from iron should make the page mobile again. Actually, you might get away with not having to remove the pages as you use a spiral bound book...

*Disclaimer* this is only what I would try - never having had exactly the problem you have... but if I'm not mistaken, most drawing paper is hot pressed, so heat and pressure would seem to be good things to try...

I really hope you manage to save you sketchbook!

Thanks Kevin and Alan.

I ended up just sticking it on the radiator with a load of stuff on top of it to keep it as flat as possible. There's a bit of wrinkling bit it's not too bad. Hasn't been too much smearing either, the benefits of permanent markers :)

Easy solution - sell my the wrinkly one and go buy another!
