So basically we have to ask ourselves, what could have came out in book form in 1988 that Ridley Scott would want to make? Elsewhere, I made a guess at THE INCAL, but I think that's highly unlikely. Too... metaphysical.
yeah, don't think Incal is commercial enough really, it would be great though for Scott to get to work with Moebius, I know they did a little on Alien and he was an inspiration on BR but something a bit more would be great.
Do you think it's definitely something that came out 20 yrs ago or something that has taken 20 yrs for the option to come up?

Yeah, that seems more likely. The latest rumour I hear is that it'll be Huxley's BRAVE NEW WORLD.
Personally I'd love it to be Rendevous with Rama, but apparently David Fincher is attatched to that.
I wonder if it could be a Arthur C Clarke book now that he's passed away.
