Experiment

After Seeing Dave Taylor's blog and his colours over his pencils, which looked great, I thought I'd try it out. I tightened up a little sketch I'd done and scanned it in and upped the contrast a bit, it's still a bit iffy in places but it left me a lot more room for work in the colours. I quite like it ,though I'm not sure how much time it would save as the colouring seems to take longer this way. Oh and I chickened out of doing the spaceship that was in the rough as it would've taken too long.

Quite pleased with how my freehand perspective came out, but I think I left a bit of her ribcage out in the second pic as she looks a bit squashed.

Just finished this for SFX mag. Really enjoyed doing it. I'm a big fan of old style comics and love Alex Raymond's and Al Williamson's stuff so I really tried to get that feel across. Thanks to Ben for doing the lettering too.

Here's some random sketches. I usually do them after eating lunch in the local cafe, I still find I'm a little too self conscious to sketch the people there and end up doodling from my head.
